New Design Yamaha Y125 MOEGI

New Design Yamaha Y125 MOEGI The Tokyo Motor Show is a hotbed for strange and way-out-there conceptual vehicles, most of them destined to stay on the drawing board, but this one, the Yamaha Y125 MOEGI, could actually cause a splash in the market on this side of the Pacific Ocean.

This concept model is a fresh embodiment of Yamaha design philosophy that combines the familiar look and feel of a bicycle in a motorcycle. Mounting a world standard 125cc class engine on a slim, lightweight frame, this model is designed to offer good fuel economy with an easy and enjoyable ride. Besides its appeal as a personal vehicle for daily commuting, it sports an active image that will lure owners on longer jaunts on the weekends.

The usual suspects include the updated R1, Majesty 250 and T-Max , and the Worldcrosser version of their Super Tenere. But perhaps the most interesting are the concept bikes which include a very funky Lego-esque version of the XT250 dualie called the RYOKU and the 1950s bicycle-with-a-motor-wedged-into-it, Y125 MOEGI very Mad Bastardish.

This thing could be a serious competitor against the less attractive scooter offerings on the market right now, and at 125cc, it should sport the kind of power that a serious motorcyclist might find intriguing as an additional to the stable to ride for kicks or hand off to the kids.

2011 Yamaha YZ85 Design

2011 Yamaha YZ85 Design is a very competent machine right out of the box and can easily win races with the right rider. We decided to keep the mods to a minimum and focus mainly on improving durability to ensure the bike would hold up to the demands of racing. Our test rider also had some personal preferences for the controls, so we made a couple of upgrades there as well. Finally, we found the stock gearing a little tall, so we swapped sprockets to better suit the tracks in our area.

The lightweight suspension of the YZ85/LW is built to the same advanced specification as that of the company’s larger MXGP-winning racers, delivering the kind of unbelievable handling and precision steering reserved for only the best of its kind on the market. The front suspension is handled by a 36mm Kayaba inverted cartridge fork with a fully adjustable compression and rebound dampening.

Meanwhile, the rear comes with a Kayaba shock providing 11.1" of travel with a fully adjustable compression. Another key element of the YZ85 is its braking capabilities. For the new model, Yamaha put in one of the best set-ups in the class: a 220 mm front disc that generates strong, controllable and progressive braking combined with a 190 mm rear disc that provides reliable stopping power at the rear end.

Engine
" Lightweight, compact, 84.7cc, liquid-cooled, crankcase reed-valve inducted,
2-stroke single.
" Crankcase reed valve induction and 28mm Keihin flat-slide carburetor ensures seamless throttle response across the powerband. The aluminium carb body helps reduce weight.
" Lightweight, forged piston means less reciprocal mass and less friction for a faster revving engine with great durability.
" Digital CD ignition system provides a hot, precise spark and monitors engine speed to ensure optimal timing for quicker, stronger response during hard acceleration. This is a maintenance-free system.
" Smooth-shifting, 6-speed transmission with involute splines on main and drive shafts are mated to a heavy-duty, multi-plate clutch delivering maximum hook-up for outstanding acceleration and corner-exiting power.

2012 Yamaha Super Tenere Feature

2012 Yamaha Super Tenere Feature A new model in Europe this year, the 2012 Yamaha Super Tenere adventure motorcycle will be imported into the United States beginning in 2011. The U.S. adventure-touring segment expands next year with Yamahas decision to import the on/off-roading Tenere for the American market. And not too soon, as adventure-touring fans in the U.S. have clamored for over a year for this machine.

The first thing that struck me about the Super Tenere was the comfortable riding position. It is bolt upright with no weight on the wrists. There is a seemingly huge amount of leg room even though I never had the seat in the highest of the two optional positions. Together with a comfortable seat, riding the Super Ténéré is genuinely refreshing in the sense that virtually none of the ergonomic compromises found on most modern motorcycles is present.

The engine wears an eight-valve cylinder head with dual overhead camshafts operating the valvetrain. Similar to its sportbike line, the Tenere employs Yamaha’s Chip Controlled Throttle (YCC-T) ride-by-wire system as well as the D-Mode, a toggle on the handlebar which allows riders to switch between two engine maps based on road conditions or riding preference. More technology comes in the form of a three-way adjustable traction control system. Engine power is transferred through a manual cable-actuated clutch; 6-speed transmission and shaft final drive, which was chosen for its all-around durability and relatively-low maintenance.

The Super Tenere features an all-new steel frame that is designed to reduce rider fatigue during long rides. The steel main frame allows the bike to enjoy balanced strength and flexibility, while the suspension set-up on the bike gives the Super Tenere the comfortable riding characteristics a bike of its name deserves. The suspension consists of 43mm forks on the front with 7.48" of travel and adjustable preload, compression, and rebound dampening, plus an adjustable pre-load suspension on the rear that allows the rider to adjust for varying loads or a passenger with the simple turn of a knob.

2012 Yamaha Stratoliner Deluxe Feature

2012 Yamaha Stratoliner Deluxe Feature the 2012 model year arrives and the economy is struggling to pick itself up, the major OEMs have stayed rather conservative on releasing new models — choosing instead to give their current lineup a refreshing of sorts, even if that only means adding a different paint scheme or new decals. The “Bold New Graphics” approach, as we industry types call it.

Cutting edge technology paired on this bike, navigation, Bluetooth, ® Sirius ® / XM ® Satellite Radio capability, real-time weather and traffic, road condition warnings. convenient navigation system supported by a handlebar that terintgrasi direct speakers and an iPod or iPhone. carrying capacity of the machine with amazing strength 113-cubic-inch (1854cc) air-cooled, pushrod V-twin produces great thrust at any speed. fuel injection with a combined two-cylinder that will provide maximum power, but still soft. fitur tambahan lain seperti Neo-streamline design gives the Stratoliner Deluxe a completely distinctive look and the fairing offers excellent weather protection.

As designer for Star, Yamaha's premium cruiser brand, he values the privilege. His interpretation of its flagship model, the Stratoliner, is a jewel on two wheels.Based in Southern California, Palhegyi enjoys ample latitude, and the Japanese company's vast resources. For 20 years, his has been an embedded relationship, providing outsource design, product planning and development, working closely with their engineering departments and fully integrated with the company.

Even better is that the YZF-R1 will also spawn a special World GP 50th Anniversary Edition that will celebrate the company’s aforementioned racing heritage. Only 2000 of these special edition models will be sold and they will come in the company’s race-winning Pearl White/Rapid Red livery with plenty of other unique additions reserved only for the special edition model.

2012 Yamaha WR250 R Feature

2012 Yamaha WR250 R Feature The new 2012 Yamaha WR250R has a slim, steel fuel tank is shaped with knee grip in mind, and the entire ergonomic layout is designed to make the rider feel like part of the bike. Minimalist front and rear fenders are designed for function, simplicity and lightness.

Our 298-lb California model weighs just one pound more than the 49-state version, and with its lights, turn signals and license plate, made riding to the trails and then hitting it a fairly do-able proposition. We’d estimate this is about a 60:40 bike in terms of its street/offroad prowess, and changing the tires to full-on knobbies would make it about a 50:50.

The 2008 WR250R and WR250X aren't anything like the existing slew of 250cc 4-stroke machines from Yamaha. The familiar WR model, the 250F enduro, has a totally different engine, chassis, suspension, computer, seat, you name it. The same goes for the YZ250F motocrosser which is even further away in the Yammie quarter-liter lineup. Since it didn't rework its YZ-F or WR-F mills that means the Tuning Fork engineers were tasked with creating a completely new engine and chassis without the luxury of sourcing parts.

2012 Yamaha XT250 and TW200 Motorcycles Used

2012 Yamaha XT250 and TW200 Motorcycles UsedYamaha’s North American division, Star Motorcycles, has just introduced the 2012 XT250 and TW200 dual purpose motorcycles, with both models set to arrive at nationwide dealerships this July. The XT250 achieves fuel economy up to an estimated 73 mpg, while the TW200 returns an estimated 78 mpg.

Electric start and full street equipment mean it is super convenient to ride the TW200 just about wherever you need to go. The strong-pulling 196cc air-cooled, four-stroke single delivers torquey low and mid range power perfectly suited to off road exploring while the maintenance free CDI ensures precise, reliable spark for peak engine performance at all rpm

Yamaha says that the XT250 bike has suspension equipped for long traveling distances along with a ground clearance of 11.2 inches with a seat that is 31.9” above ground. The cradle semi-double steel chassis makes the bike more nimble and light because of more mass centralization, whereas greater torsional and lateral rigidity along with decreased weight of lower frame elements aid in providing stable and light handling.

One of the most eye-catching in Yamaha’s lineup is the Yamaha TW200. It returns in 2012 with its fat rear tire and low seat height, providing extreme stability as one of the most user-friendly bikes available. Like the XT250, the TW200 is equipped with an electric starter and utilizes a 196cc air-cooled four-stroke engine. The bike offers low to mid-range power while on road or off, and instrumentation includes speedometer, odometer and a resettable trip meter. Capable of 78 mpg, the TW200 will be available to the public beginning in July of 2012 with an MSRP of $4490.

Yamaha Launching Zuma 50F - Majesty Scooters

Yamaha Launching Zuma 50F - Majesty Scooters Joining the V Star 950/Touring and the XT250 and TW200 dual purpose machines in the 2012 Star Motorcycles model range in the United States, are the all-new 2012 Zuma 50F and the 2012 Majesty Scooters. While the Zuma 50F is set to arrive at nationwide dealerships in Spetember, the Majesty will become available one month earlier, in August.

Leading the pack of 2012 Yamahas are two scooters aiming to punch high fuel prices in the face: the Majesty ($6,750) which achieves a respectable (but not mind-blowing) 50 mpg, and the all-new Zuma 50F ($2,490), a pipsqueak that ekes out an impressive 132 mpg-- though your grandma in a walker might have better off-the-line acceleration.

The staggeringly high 132 mpg claim is a dyslexic bettering of the 2-stroke Zuma’s 123 mpg fuel economy. That claimed efficiency nets a near 160-mile range from the 50F’s 1.2 gallon tank. Yamaha touts the new Zuma can be refueled without opening the seat, a convenient feature. Once opened, however, the 23-liter storage capacity is promised to be large enough to store an XL full-face helmet.

The 2012 Majesty is a high-tech transportation unit that blurs the boundaries between scooter and motorcycle – highly utilitarian performance. The rugged, reliable and powerful 395cc liquid-cooled four-stroke engine and fully automatic transmission mean there is more than enough power to run at highway speeds, with room for two and plenty of storage space. The electronic fuel injection delivers excellent throttle response and low-maintenance reliability, while the dual chamber air box, air injection system and exhaust catalyst technology reduce air pollution.

Meanwhile, the Majesty scooter is powered by a four stroke, liquid cooled 395cc engine that is paired with an automatic gear box, with a lot of power matching that of highway speeds, along with a lot of space for storage needs and seating for two.

2012 Yamaha V Star 950 Review

The North American division of Yamaha, Star Motorcycles, has already started rolling out the first 2012 models, including the new V Star 950 and 950 Tourer entry-level cruisers. The two models will become available at nationwide dealership starting form July 2011.

The 2012 V Star 950 comes in Liquid Silver or Candy Red with an MSRP of $8,490. The V Star 950 Tourer comes in Raven or Impact Blue with an MSRP of $9,490.

The 2012 V Star 950 has a claimed weight of 613 pounds. Available in Liquid Silver and Candy Red, it retails at $8490. The V Star Tourer adds a windshield, leather-wrapped hard saddlebags and a passenger backrest. With a claimed weight of 657 pounds, the 2012 V Star Tourer is available for $9,490 in Raven and Impact Blue.
The 942cc 60° V-twin engine is both simple and sophisticated. Sure, there’s no-fuss air cooling for traditional looks. But inside you’ll find the reason for the surprisingly spirited performance: four-valve cylinder heads, ceramic-composite-lined cylinders, forged aluminum pistons and fuel injection. The meticulously tuned 2-into-1 exhaust system has a throaty exhaust note and also 3-way catalyst technology to reduce air pollution.

The carefully designed chassis contributes to an exceptionally light feeling riders are sure to appreciate. The double-cradle steel main frame offers an ideal rigidity balance in the longitudinal, lateral and tensional directions, using the engine as a stressed member. With the engine mounting position slightly forward for optimum front-rear weight distribution and its large, 18-inch front wheel, the V Star 950 has outstanding handling performance.
