2012 Kawasaki Teryx4 Review Kawasaki has been churning out its popular Teryx Side-x-Side for about four years now. We’ve spent many hours behind the wheel of the Teryx, including a memorable two-day trip from Big Bear, Calif. to Las Vegas, Nev. For 2012 Kawasaki is looking to take the Teryx to another level by adding two more seats and a host of changes to create the Teryx4 750.

Kawasaki has been working on this project for a long time and our very own Team Green Reid Nordin has been a driving force in its devolpment which means a REAL UTV guy giving REAL input and feedback. This has forced engineers to change things more than few times to really dial the Teryx 4 in

Like the frame, the Teryx4’s 749cc V-twin four-stroke engine is also new, offering 15 percent more power than the already stout unit in the two-seat Teryx, along with all the durability to deal with the rigors of spirited fun in challenging off-road environments. The V-twin design is revered for its stump-pulling power and easy-to-harness flexibility, which makes it the perfect powerplant for a machine like the Teryx4, which thrives on instantaneous and controllable low- and mid-range response partnered with eye-opening hauling ability

The engine breathes through a larger cartridge-style air filter with an intake chamber that is nearly three times as large as the two-seat Teryx (T2). Also, the intake has been repositioned from the console between the driver and passenger to underneath the front hood. The radiator is larger than the T2 with a bigger fan to push hot air. In addition, an extra fan has been installed on the underside of the chassis to help blow cool air across the mid-mounted engine itself. The secondary fan kicks on whenever the radiator fan is activated. There’s a blower warning light on the dash but we never saw it light up, nor heard the radiator fan kick on during an entire day of driving. Obviously the oversized radiator does a good job.

2012 Kawasaki KLR 650 Spesification


2012 Kawasaki KLR 650 Spesification is one of the most popular single-cylinder dual-sport motorcycles available. 2012 Kawasaki 1700 Vaquero Concept


2012 Kawasaki 1700 Vaquero Concept Vaquero Motorcycle Cowboy is the latest addition to the successful line of Vulcan 1700 introduced in 2009. The application of the standard range of comfortable cruising full of the Vulcan 1700, the platform has proven to be very versatile.

The Kawasaki bagger received positive reviews from the moto-media, mostly for its practicality combined with a muscular stance. And wanting to go head-to-head with other big-V-Twin baggers, Kawasaki continues offering the Vulcan 1700 Vaquero for 2012 as a carry-over model.

Kawasaki’s bagger returns again in 2012 after making a successful debut last year. The 2012 Vulcan 1700 Vaquero ($16,799-$17,199) has a front fairing styled in the same manner as the Voyager minus the auxiliary lights. A shorty, smoked windscreen, louvers where the cruising lights were, and a chin spoiler give the Vaquero a sportier disposition. The tail end has been opened up by eliminating the topcase and its hard saddlebags are styled a bit differently, too. The engine and covers have been given the blacked-out treatment and the bike’s engine shrouds, rear fender and one-piece side covers are all exclusive to the model.

All of these 2011 Kawasaki Vulcan 1700 Vaquero features, of course, oversees a series of buttons and switches on the handlebars fairly intuitive, but the thumbs of gloves in the winter will be a bit ‘close to each other. New Design 2012 Kawasaki ZZR1400


New Design 2012 Kawasaki ZZR1400 Kawasaki is promising the new 2012 ZZR1400 (Ninja ZX-14R in the US) is the world's fastest accelerating production motorcycle. On the technical side will change very little and will be confirmed the cubic capacity of 1400cc, as well as more than a good chassis, a turbocharged version but it will come in addition to the base.

The top end has been breathed on, with an increased compression ratio of 12.3:1 (from 12.0:1). Intake and exhaust ports have revised shapes, with the exhust ports also bigger. The mechanism has been completely revised, with a 4mm longer stroke that increases capacity up to 1441cc. With new valves and compression ratio, the power obtained is 200 hp (210 with the air box pressure) to 10,000 g / min, while torque reaches a value of 162.5 Nm at 7,500 r / min, have 265 pounds (268 for the staged version).

Spent gases are exhaled through an all-new exhaust featuring tapered header pipes and larger-volume mufflers with dual catalyzers to allow high flow without polluting excessively.

As for aesthetics, the 2012 ZX-14R receives a face lift with more aggressive fairings, and a tail section that features faired-in turn signals and a seat cover. The Ninja 1000's lightweight aluminum frame is similar to Kawasaki's famed liter bike, the ZX-10R. The frame cradles the engine from above, and bolts to the motor solidly in three spots, with the final mount rubber-backed for added vibration isolation and torisonal rigidity.

Along with the frame and suspension elements derived from the world of sport bikes, you get light-weight wheels and sport bike instrumentation. The instruments are taken from the ZX-6R, with different fonts and colors. Included is a very legible, traditional analog tachometer next to an LCD screen that includes a speedometer, fuel gauge, clock, dual trip meters and assorted warning lamps. The fuel gauge is easily read at a glance, it is appreciated when combined with the comfort and long-distance touring capabilities of this bike.

New 2011 Kawasaki Vulcan 900 Classic SE


The Vulcan 900 Classic’s 903cc engine provides excellent performance, while rider floorboards complete with a heel and toe shifter enhance rider comfort. The tank-mounted instrumentation includes a handy fuel gauge and an easy-to-read analog speedometer. And its 5.3-gallon fuel tank is the largest in its class.

With its versatile 903cc liquid-cooled motor, the variations on the Vulcan 900 theme have been quite impressive for a smaller mid-size cruiser. For 2011, the Classic SE gets whitewall tires and a faux brushed-metal graphic that flows from the front of the tank to the tip of the rear fender.

The visual treats continue with curved cooling fins on the big, classic-looking V-twin, which bristles with modern touches inside including four-valve-per-cylinder performance and liquid-cooled reliability. An engine counterbalancer works with the single-pin crankshaft to produce that distinctive guttural V-twin sound and feel, but without the annoying V-twin vibration.

The suspension on the BMW was absolutely amazing. The Lamphun-Chiang Mai highway is mostly made up of concrete slabs and the joints between the slabs are often not terribly smooth or level so it's a great place to test a bike's suspension. When I've ridden the Ninja 650R and ER6n on that road the chassis is easily unsettled by the bumps in the road while the BMW went through the bumps like a hot knife through butter. SMOOTH is the only word that comes to mind when I think of the handling of the F800GS.

The Versys’ compact, liquid-cooled, fuel-injected, 649cc, parallel-twin engine was the perfect powerplant for this light and nimble do-anything bike right from the start,it’s lively enough for advanced riders and predictable enough to inspire confidence in rank novices. The torquey twin delivers a deep ribbon of power in the lower and middle parts of its rev range, making the Versys a great commuter and relaxed traveling companion. Its surprising genius becomes readily apparent once the roads turn twisty, because despite its comfort and civility, the fun-to-ride Versys also offers genuine sportbike handling and excellent fuel economy. With its big, 5-gallon fuel tank you can go a long way between fill-ups.

New Custom Kawasaki Ninja ZX-14



The 2011 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-14 can best be considered the Kawibusa. It is an arrow directed from Team Green right into the heart of Suzuki's iconic Hayabusa hypersupermegabike (also known as Widowmaker), and as such it is a supremely successful one. While prior to the advent of the latest models of the Ninja ZX-14 Special Edition the Suzuki was the only game in town, there is now a valid alternative option.

Kawasaki reported introduced their new Ninja ZX-14 2011 that pointed to fight with Suzuki Hayabusa.Kawasaki Ninja ZX-14 comes with engine 4-strokes 1,352 cc, liquid cooled, DOHC, 4-valves per cylinder.The bike that uses hydraulic clutch and 6 speeds also applied a brake system called KIBS (Kawasaki Intelligent anti-lock Brake System).

The exact horsepower and torque figures of the Ninja ZX-14 are irrelevant, but a track day will tell you anything there is to know. As for the brakes, what we do know is that each piston in the calipers has its own brake pad, which increases cooling efficiency and decreases the chance deforming due to heat.

New Kawasaki's VN1700


The new, chopped-down, touring VN1700 Voyager Custom is the third bike in Kawasaki's Voyager line-up to hit the UK and neatly fills a gap between the fully-dressed touring Voyager and laid-back, unfaired Classic.

Very obviously the Japanese V-twin – Kawasaki’s first full dress machine since the 1986 1200cc Voyager – is not only pitched directly at the Electra Glide, it’s designed to look very much like it too. Even the white-on-black clocks with their serif font are in the same style as Harley’s so the look from the cockpit is as American as the bike’s profile.Having said that, generally it’s been well executed as the bike looks the part, to the point where it is indeed mistaken for an Electra Glide, although in practice it’s not quite as kitsch as the American original.

As befits a flagship, the bike comes equipped with a number of new systems including Kawasaki firsts. K-ACT (Kawasaki Advanced Coactive-braking Technology) ABS is designed for smooth braking control and effective, confident braking. We would actually like to see ABS on all three of these bikes. It shares Kawasaki’s first fully electronic throttle valve system with its sister bikes for smooth engine response and easy starting in all conditions. Electronic cruise control and an impressive audio system compatible with iPod are also standard.

A number of features on the Voyager are intended to make long-distance touring as relaxing as possible for rider and pillion. The large, stylish fairing with its integrated lights is mounted to the frame so that any wind buffeting is transferred to the frame rather than the handlebars, helping to reduce rider fatigue on long trips. The windscreen was actually too high for all of us — nobody could look over it, which is the ideal on wet days. It’s not adjustable. We’d either install a shorter screen or cut down the existing one.

2012 Kawasaki KX450F Feature


2012 Kawasaki KX450F Feature Kawasaki just wrapped up the 2011 Supercross title with Ryan Villopoto at the controls of a factory KX450F. For 2012, Kawasaki focused its KX450F efforts on centralizing mass, making usable power and offering increased setup options for suspension, engine and chassis.

First off, I have to give a shout out to the folks at Red Bud for having us because the track here is totally awesome. The first half of the track is kind of like Southern California’s Zaca Station. The dirt is loamy (and rocky) plus the layout is fairly high-speed—third, fourth-gear pinned type stuff. The back half of the circuit is more like Racetown 395 with the terrain here being soft sand with big jumps and high and low-speed corners. The track is situated right in the middle of a forest so obviously it’s a very majestic place to ride.

The 2012 can easily be altered to fit standard-size riders and tall or short riders via the 4-way adjustable bar mounts, the ability to lower the footpegs 5mm, and an optional lowering link (sold separate) that drops the rear 6mm. Then on the performance side, Kawasaki now has three different ignition/fuel maps pre-programmed into the ECU or what they call DFI or Digital Fuel Injection.
The new fuel tank, which now forms a straighter, smoother line with the seat, makes it even easier to move around on. Unfortunately, the KX still comes with overly hard grips that left blisters on our hands.

On a challenging RedBud track and in steamy conditions, our test riders still managed to put in a full two days worth of riding without collapsing, and we have to credit the new KX450F and all of its adjustability for that. When you can start off the day as comfortable as possible, on a bike totally dialed in to your liking, it simply makes your day at the track that much easier, not to mention fun.
