New KTM Duke 690 Picture

New KTM Duke 690 Picture | This prototype is the new 70bhp KTM Duke 690. It was spotted being filled up with fuel yards from the KTM factory in Mattighofen, Austria, by an eagle-eyed Austrian KTM owner who took pictures and video on his mobile phone.

KTM claims that the 690 R scorches tarmac with 70 horsepower. That would be a big improvement over the standard 690 which cranked out 56 HP on our 2009 dyno session. KTM’s big Single was what won us over with excellent bottom-end grunt that makes short work of twisty pavement. With a claimed weight of 326 pounds, the extra thrust will be especially potent. Not only has KTM managed to boost the engine performance, but maintenance intervals are now longer meaning engineers have planned for durability as well.

Price $10,998.00 Bodystyle Sport Warranty 12 months Manufacturer Country Austria Introduction Year 2010 Displacement (cc) 690 Engine Type Single-Cylinder
"The KTM 690 Duke's new LC4 single cylinder engine is the most impressive part of the new Duke. It’s hard to believe it’s a single, so much better than the lumpy single cylinder engines of old. The styling is very aggressive, it’s laden in quality parts like WP suspension and Brembo brakes, and on the right road, hairpin after hairpin its almost untouchable, shame we do not have those kinds of roads in the UK."

Earlier, the Duke did show a quick 180 km / h with another 20 or so to come, but anything over 130-140 km / h means straining your neck muscles. The ratios of the six-speed box are nicely spread. The bike also has a three way power mode switch under the seat for three different fuel mappings. Already, enthusiasts around biking forums are looking forward to the Duke. Start saving as the bike will be here sooner than you can imagine.

KTM first introduced the Duke in 1994 as a supermoto bike featuring a 609 cc single-cylinder which came to life using a kick start. It was the manufacturer’s first stock supermoto machine and it could be easily distinguished due to its unique styling and spoked wheels.

Suzuki GSX1250FA Review

The Suzuki GSX1250FA is the bike a discerning motorcyclist will pick out of a line-up of overly specialized sportbikes or portly sport-tourers emphasizing the latter part of the compound title. Besides its standard equipment anti-lock brakes, the GSX1250FA is elemental in its construction and built to be ridden anywhere, anytime by a motorcyclist who values versatility over hyperbole.

Stripped of its Bandit moniker, in use since the Bandit 400’s U.S. introduction in 1991, the GSX1250FA also differs from its predecessor by way of full-fairing cosmetics. Less obvious upgrades include heavier fork springs and firmer rebound damping, and an additional radiator fan to compensate for the loss of airflow from the full-coverage bodywork.

Its strong Suzuki fuel-injected, liquid-cooled double overhead cam (DOHC) 1255cc engine provides abundant power while its classic ergonomic riding position and body fairing offer riders comfort and protection.

The GSX1250FA features a powerful engine and comfortable standard ergonomics are joined by a host of advanced features including fully-floating dual front disc brakes, digital Antilock Brake System (ABS), and an adjustable seat that can be raised or lowered up to 20mm.

Lito Green Motion Review

Lito Green Motion Review is a Quebec-based company, has unveiled the new Sora electric motorcycle that promises 185 miles on a single charge. The design is glaringly inspired from café racers, street fighters and the bobber types and comes out with a carbon-fiber quilt.

Sora features some amazing characteristics, such as the position electric seat that can be adjusted in height. The powerplant is a liquid-cooled 3-phase AC induction electric motor and, with the help of the CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission), the bike manages to accelerate clutchless from 0 up to its maximum speed of 120 mph (193 km/h). The acceleration from 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) takes about 4 seconds and the maximum torque level is 59 lb-ft (80 Nm).

The battery needs 8 hours to recharge. The bike that weighs 529 pounds talks speed. It can jump up to 60 miles per hour in about four seconds, thanks to the 59 lb-ft of torque it offers but it’s the continuously variable transmission (CVT) that actually makes it speedy by further pushing the speed till 120 mph.

The seat is also electric, which can be adjusted at various heights from low to high, as per your convenience at the touch of a button. It has a GPS system embedded in the touch screen display, which will make sure the rider reaches the correct destination and doesn’t feel lost. Sora also has high-end suspension and brake components to keep you super safe even if you accelerate it to a high speed.

Price is C$42,399 (ouch), but you might get tax incentives and rebates because this is an electric vehicle. It's not entirely clear on the site, but apparently deliveries should begin in October 2011.
